What size should I choose, and are they dimmable?
Alabaster is a stone you light from inside. Each Alba piece layers it by hand into overlapping petals on a solid brass frame, so the light comes through the stone rather than off it, soft and even and close to candlelight.
Petals in stone, three ways
Three pieces share one form. The Alba Chandelier is the round statement, 25.5 inches across at the smallest of three sizes. The Alba Pendant stretches the same petals into a 39-inch linear shape for a table or island, and the Alba Sconce takes the stone to the wall at 15 inches tall. All three are solid brass in brushed gold, each shade veined differently.
Choosing a size
Add the room's length and width in feet and read the total as inches of diameter, so a 14 by 18-foot room lands around 32 inches. Hang the pendant 30 to 36 inches above a table, and center the sconce 60 to 65 inches from the floor. All three run warm white at 3000K and dim with a standard wall dimmer.
Rooms that suit the stone
Alba suits rooms built on texture and neutral palettes, Japandi and organic modern first. Living rooms, dining rooms, entries and bedrooms all work; a kitchen counter or a desk does not, since diffused stone gives atmosphere rather than task light. Where another form fits better, the wider alabaster range and the alabaster sconces cover it.
Start in the room where you spend your evenings, then carry the same stone to the next wall.
